lick, drink, bite.

oh god. watching shanee's video of us umbrella-fighting along the shores of ko lanta makes me miss them so damn much. that and reminiscing of the time we spent together in thailand. i can't believe we were just there slightly over a month ago. our thailand trip will always remain close to my heart, deeply personal that it was.

being there with you was like a breath of fresh air; our little sanctuary for rest/relaxation/recuperation. it was no holds barred in every way possible - testing our endurance and strength climbing bloody mountains and trekking in caves as well as our friendship in those quiet moments between.

i can't explain it; on one hand it feels like i've been here forever yet it's only been a month. but somehow mouthing out the words "a month" feels too fast too. in a couple more months, i'll be home again.

ahem.

i'm already thinking up my dec itinerary:
- zouk/phuture with gen, cot/topshoppers, hazel, min/makeupgroup/jacky, roy

- supper at jalan kayu with jacky, roy/car
- thomson prata with jpoh
- nice sit down dinner with gen, drea, owen?
- chilling with vicanda, babylamb, sweetie?
- breakfast picnic at the botanical gardens with gen, cot
- villa bali with stace & co.
- breakfast/butter factory with jon, vishal
- a little reunion with the ats folks?
- reunion with ballet peeps?

DEFINITELY something big with the family. i'm going all the way with christmas this year. ALL. THE. WAY. i'm talkin tinsel/glitter/foil, angels, santas, fat elves, candycanes, stockings, martinis, tequila shots (lemon slices and salt shaker inclusive - the only proper way to drink tequila - to do it any other way would just be plain lazy), champagne - you name it, we're doin it. goddammit. we have a bar in our house - right in front of the main door, as a matter of fact - we sure as hell should be using it!

plus our usual rojak mix of food from all cultures of course. umm.. i guess what i'm saying is, there will be no turkey. but there'll always be the alternative, laksa?

you better turn up with presents in hand or else, NO ENTRY! uncle cyril... abide by the DRESSCODE! and no, i do not mean t-shirt, shorts and a tie *stern face*

anything else to add to the list?
hmm.. i'll mull it over and get back to ya.

p/s: new development - i've been poring over my cookbook, bookmarking pages with easy i-think-i-can-do-this receipes. yep, the day has arrived, better late than never right? - victoria actually looks forward to cooking.

christmas!

merry christmas!

sitting around. heh. i spy mr kevin wee doing something strange..

psst! i have several other strange-r photos of mr wee in a 'compromising situationslashpose',
nah, he looks very cute lah. ask stacie!

the adorable stacie-shi han combo

and the show-stopper/scene-stealer/highlight of the night was IMRAN, always imran.
with his lovely dee :)

and again..
with yan aka 'EFFERVESCENCE!'

notice my hand/finger!
the pre-requisite to...

my ultimate favourite christmas picture!

the pointed fingers at imran were NOT pre-posed heh. we caught him cheating AGAIN!
using his secret tactics..

playing taboo!

man, did we get caught up in it too.
lots of hectic screaming & shouting ensued as the boys kept purposely distracting the players on team 'beautifuls', if i remember correctly.

tian and A linda. there was ALOT of food.
food, glorious food.

p/s: if you saw the rest of the 184.57 photos, you'd gradually realise that in almost every single one, someone was ALWAYS with a plate in hand or eating something.

laughing his hat off!

not wanting the amazing the night to end, we grouped up and split into 7 cars and set off for liquid kitchen. after drinks at LK (sadly, we weren't able to converse across the tables), imran's spur of the moment brainchild;
a bbq at his place! ...

[i'm starting to embrace doing things on impulse, doesn't it make life that much more exciting?]

it was a wonderful christmas,
one of the best i've ever had.

if only it could be christmas everyday, though i think we'd all grow fat stuffing ourselves with such copious amounts of rich food. but one thing's for sure, i'd never get sick of the presents! *grin*

[which reminds me, i have SO MUCH post-christmas shopping of presents to do! AHHHH]

unfortunately, i couldn't upload all the photos and had to choose the cream of the crop, aka the select few which brought across the feel of that night amply. not to fear! i'll upload them all somewhere else soon.

love me.

christmas 2004

everyone seems to have had a lousy christmas. on the contrary, i actually had a pretty fun one :)

it started off on a different note this year- at the desilva's. for the first time in like ever, we were breaking tradition [unanimous vote: never again shall tradition be broken; it's just not right]

deb came over *smile* we talked mostly, bitched randomly- all the while chomping my way through starburst squirts (i LOVE gummies.) she tinkled on my laptop while i dug out (literally!) potentials from my walk-in. tops and bottoms were strewn all over my bed as i tried to piece together the perfect christmas-casual-but-not-too-casual outfit. it being the first time there, i didn't quite know what to expect.

finally i settled on my trusty miss selfridge supercasualcool white tank and a purple long sleeved translucent top (that i cut off myself) worn over it, paired with V1's sparkly superminiskirt from miss selfridge UK. i felt adventurous that day- and with the simultaneous encouragement of deb, i experimented with this red earth violet eyeshadow with the prettiest gold glitter in it :) i actually came out looking pretty! to top off the look, i wore my chunky turquoise mosaic earrings from UK. whoohoo. OH! and i wore my prettiest pair of shoes- white pointy toes with silver sequins and beads.

when we arrived, the 4 storey climb loomed ahead. die. upon reaching their doorstep, i heard nicole crying out for me. hee. the nanosecond i put one toe through the door, she rushed ahead and gushed,"My boyfriend's here! my boyfriend's here!" uncle cyril and i found it SO amusing that i received no "hi's" or "how are you's"; instead, she made the leap straight to THE BOYFRIEND- heh. [i shall explain the 'heh' later on]

being me, i walked right up to the boy and said,"hi boyfriend, i'm cousin." he looked momentarily terrorized. hee. i guess not every family is dysfunctionally shelved with kooky characters, unlike mine. i proceeded to refer to him as "the boyfriend" for the remainder of the night :) and as for his poor brother, he was referred to as "the boyfriend's brother". everyone followed in my lead :)

i should have expected it. now that the spotlight has temporarily been taken off my sister (the oldest of the third generation), it does a oneeighty and shines on ME! not quite what i expected this christmas- the spanish inquisition halfway through satay. a.n.y.w.a.y, i dealt with the barrage of questions best i could- besides it amused me more than it annoyed me- which included me fielding questions about my nonexistent lovelife like a pro. [practice makes perfect] "do you have a boyfriend?" "why not?" "when will you get attached?" "when will we meet him?" "do you need help?" "do you want to meet my friend's friend's son's good friend? he's very cute!" "my friend is very handsome. do you want me to matchmake? REALLY.. HE IS!" blah blah blah.

goodness gracious me. hmm. i guess it shows.

signs that you are a teenage spinster: when your little wisp of a 15 year old cousin brings home her equally fresh faced partner while you stand in one corner, all jaded and cynical; with only the self consolation that the pasty faced dark eye circle look is very becoming these days to provide a temporary distraction.

singing the DBS black advert jingle bells song with daryl; much to the begging of everyone to shut up (while covering their ears). playing taitee. the removal of clothing articles to better my fengshui. press L1R1 to enable your player to kiss the opponent (the boyfriend's brother and justin playing playstation; making their MALE players KISS)

as is or should be obvious by now, i had a WILD night :)

all i want for christmas is..

is it too late to put up a christmas wishlist?

well.. everyone's been yapping on about how christmas last for 12 days so here i go.

all i want for christmas is:
someone intelligent, who GETS me, good english, pretty, has curlywavy-ish hair, nice smile and good teeth, loving, romantic, old-fashioned, sweet, patient, taller than me, has a sense of humour, considerate, with ample resources, punctual, generous but not a spendthrift, loyal, honest, affectionate, a good listener, who knows how to handle me, gets along with my friends+family, has a nice fun family, hard working, has a good fashion sense, is sought after, sensitive, knows how to have a good time/party with me, has cool friends, has a high huggability factor..

as you can see, this list could go on for 12 days...

3 must not's: smoking. excessive drinking, drugs.

bonus: drives.
