here comes the sun

cont'd...

"dinner was lovely", i said. meant it too.

we ate at the top of the M, in every sense of the word. the 39th storey of the mandarin hotel, to be exact. it was amazing; the most magnificent view of orchard/s'pore i'd ever seen.

the top of the M is a revolving restaurant.

its structure simply leaves me in awe, i cannot possibly even begin to imagine how it was built. to me it's comparable to the leaning tower of pisa, 'cept singaporean of course.

we ate:
various breads & goose liver custard
caesar's salad
salmon tomato potato thing
goose liver ham tomato thing
the 7 sins - chocolate
all kinds of cheese & breads
complimentary chocolate mints + dry ice effects

forgive me, for the menu was in french.

though it was easily remedied by our very own frenchman, a la sylvain. he was browsing through the menu so excitedly that he barely registered that it was in his mother tongue.

after my rounds round the revolving restaurant looking at the view like some country bumpkin, i reported back to the S's that there was a band making its way around, taking requests. when it came to our turn, sylvain asked for 'something by the beatles' and we got...

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
It's all right, it's all right

ohmylord. it was wonderful! when the S's started requesting songs that they couldn't play, they listed the songs they COULD play, and from them i picked 'tears in heaven'. by which, the restaurant had gone a complete 360, and we ended where we began.

a beautiful song to end a beautiful night.

i wish with all my heart &soul that i find a good job in future, which isn't too far away, unforunately. so that i won't have to worry about money and i'll be able to dine in nice places with my friends and family without the customary guilt trip that usually follows suit.
