today, i slept.
i literally, lay in bed the entire day; feeling too sick to even drag myself out of bed to get to class. i managed to pull it together enough to wash my face, brush my teeth and make instant noodles for lunch (followed by 2 bowls of frosties) after which i drowsily climbed back into bed, trying to keep warm under the covers, and slept again, only waking up around dinnertime (instant porridge) - somehow managing to ignore the incessant beeps of my phone throughout the span of the day.
i think the crazy mad rush of travelling has taken its toll; us three are all down with the flu, to varying degrees. travelling used to be such a relaxing enjoyable activity; now getting through airport customs is traumatic enough to keep you off flying for good. we were treated like criminals; i had to remove my coat, belt and boots plus i got bodysearched by a woman officer - i felt so violated!
ugh. prior to that; the bus ride to ciampino airport that took excruciatingly long (over an hour due to bad traffic). followed by the 2 hour wait for our gate to open and to board the plane. upon touching down at gatwick, we ran helter skelter to get to arrivals, then to buy tickets and hop onboard the gatwick express. after the half hour journey to victoria, we rushed off yet again to buy tickets and catch the train home, not wanting to miss the last one and get stranded at vic, having to sleep in the station - possibly freezing to death. close to an hour later, we finally reached rochester after midnight, making the slow long walk home in the freezing cold.
so us, feeling sick, is quite understandable really.
