one raspberry tea frapp, please?

if there ever was a day for talking, yesterday was it.

gen and i dined at marches, now known as 'the village' - we're all probably gonna remember it as marches forever, why even bother? i wonder - and man, did we talk. talk talk talk. this is just a rough estimate, but you can consider my word quota fulfilled for a full two days, min.

we window-shopped for a bit, then met up with anny, fresh from topshop. headed to my favourite starbucks at liat towers for "something fruity and refreshing" said i. oh, and as an added bonus, to ogle at my oh-so-divine starbucks boy - yeah the one with the eyeliner - he's so cute, i can hardly look at him (not without looking away immediately). ooh, i can finally say i know what a frapp is :) gen and i shared sips from our raspberry tea frapp. it sounds so lovely, just saying it.

the talking recommenced. yakkity yak. i was so exhausted by the time we were done talking, that's new, for me. AND i learned a new word yesterday - 'aftering'. anny used it in the context, "when (so&so) is aftering you... " it's supposed to mean (well, it's not a REAL word, but still, good to know) the period in which the guy is going after you. the courtship phase, one would presume.

**(really random thought) please check out rinko kikuchi, [photo 15 of 40] at the golden globes. she looks absolutely delicious; like a little jellyfish. i like. by far the most whimsical quirky and eyecatching dress/dresser at the entire shebang.

inspiration struck, at the oddest of moments too. i was to meet the mother at angmokio mrt, hop in the car and head straight to the clinic, for a vaccination against cervical cancer. suddenly, i felt like going out, and dressing up pretty (by that, i mean like a girl) - hence, the plans with gen.

i ended up wearing:
a checked floor length tiered skirt, in shades of aqua with a lime trim, as a floaty empire dress - very marchesa. $5, house of japan at arab str/haji lane. i complemented the dress with mum's vintage aquamarine waist-cinching belt that tapers behind, gold leather strips in front. to top it off, my heather grey button down cardi from topshop/anny&jacky. schoolgirl socks (to avoid blisters) + charcoal converses. asylum toile carrier, as bag. jlo-esque silver hoops.

haha it's ironic, mum keeps complaining that i wear too many clothes.

i felt like such a girly girl, and the skirt/dress was so flattering that i kept stealing glances at the mirror in the marches toilet, you and me both gen - don't deny! heh. note: this was later on that day/night.

when mum first saw me waiting for her at the pickup point, she got the shock of her life. she had no idea i was headed out later. i think she thought i was some freak for dressing so nicely for an injection!?! what was said later at the clinic during my consultation was even funnier, but a bit too personal to be blogged about. nevertheless, hilarious.

almost as hilarious as the mother attempting to give me THE TALK about the birds & bees, OVER BREAKFAST!! in bkk. she actually asked me if i knew what a condom was?!? i nearly died, of mortification. fur-real. i actually shushed the mother, looked around furtively and slunk lower into my seat. HAHA.

this post is dragging on for far too long. i'm getting tired of typing. be back later!
