this is gonna be another one of those weird moments that i just can't seem to avoid, no matter what i do, or do not do.

yesterday, i was supposed to meet roy at 11 to watch harry potter. as expected, we were both running late, though i was running later heh. instead of walking out to begonia as per normal, i decided to cross the ulu-ated field behind my house to get to the bus stop.

so, i walked and reached the main road. then i waited for the cars to drive past and the road to clear, so i could make my illegal crossing. double heh.

and when i saw my opportunity, i took it. the last vehicle to pass was this enormous white truck. i was crossing as he was driving past; seeing that we were like at least a mile apart, i figured it would do no harm. surprisingly, he honked at me. almost expecting a third finger (don't know why), i looked up at his window.

this 50-something year old man was smiling and waving at me!

like, what the.

i don't quite know what to make of this, though i could just take it simply as a friendly greeting from a fellow road-user. it's still a little bizarre.

has any driver on the road ever honked at you just to smile and wave?

if someone has done that to you before, please let me know. i would like the comfort of knowing that i'm not alone in this strangex2 category.
