call it basking in the love of another human being or even as a sign of age catching up with you but there comes a point in a every person's life when you just go...
"i."
"really."
"don't."
"care."
and you mean it too.
there was a time in my life (ages 13 through 17) when i couldn't walk down a street (alone) without feeling all hot and bothered about the imaginary stares and bitchy comments. but i swear i've found a cure, or cure(s) of sorts.
this is the miracle worker.
1. supreme self-confidence
you should be able to sashay down orchard road without a care in the world. i say, being in love does wonders for your self confidence. assured by the knowledge that you have someone waiting at home for you, who adores you despite all your flaws and then some, fills you with this warmth and natural glow that not even the coldest, hardest glares of jealous fashionistas can break.
9 be single and act taken.
10 be taken.
now i know why 'be taken and act taken' is the new 'be single and act taken'.
undoubtedly, no one should have to rely solely on the love of another to truly be comfortable in one's own skin. as the saying goes, "in order to love another, you have to love yourself first."
so please, love yourself.
2. sunglasses
the bigger the better, well at least be sure they suit your face shape and are suitably oversized, just about large enough to block out the sun's rays and the inquisitive looks from everyone else.
3. mp3 player
it pretty much goes hand in hand with the shades these days, even better, if they compliment each other (colour-coordinate)
4. a book
exercising your grey matter over some light reading never hurt anyone. look smart at it too!
thus, i conclude my research and analysis on 'really not caring' .
i. really. don't. care.
